Short Stainless Steel Backplate
Perfect for the diver with a shorter torso to provide a comfortable fit
The Stainless Steel Backplate is now offered in a “short” size. Ideal for women or any diver with a shorter torso length, the short plate has an overall length of 13.5 inches which is 1.5 inches shorter than the standard size. All features are the same as the standard plate except that there is only one bolt hole position, and the 1-inch crotch strap slot was eliminated to save space. The short backplate is still 100% compatible with the Dive Rite Single Tank Adapter (STA), and all Dive Rite wings and harnesses.

Should I use a standard or short backplate?
The short backplate is 1.5 inches (3.8 centimeters) shorter than the standard backplate, making it a better fit for diver's with shorter than average torsos. Women generally have shorter torsos than men, but the short backplate can also be better for any diver who is 5'2 and under.
