Single Tank Adapter (STA)
Save time switching between singles and doubles

Our Single Tank Adapter is constructed of marine grade 304 stainless steel and fits squarely in the opening of our Travel and Voyager series wings. For divers who frequently switch between double tank and single tank rigs, the STA is the answer. It is also a convenient way to attach cam straps to a hard metal backplate that does not have tank band slots. Includes two rubber non-slip cam strap pads and all hardware required to mount STA to a backplate.

FAQs
What is the standard mounting distance for doubles and Single Tank Adapters?
11 inches (28 centimeters) on center. Dive Rite set the industry standard for backplates and wings in 1984.
What is the advantage/disadvantage of using a single tank adapter (STA)?
Advantage: An STA raises the cylinder about an inch off your back. If the two mounting bolts aren’t tightened fully, the adapter can wobble on the plate. However, because those bolts line up with the twin-tank mounting holes, the STA locks the wing in place and prevents any vertical movement. Disadvantage: Without an STA, there’s one fewer component to worry about and the cylinder sits more securely against your back. To prevent the wing from sliding up or down by an inch or two, use assembly screws or shorter screws to fasten it directly to the plate.
