Cleaning
Cleaning
With proper care and service, this wing will provide you years of safe, enjoyable use. Without proper care, this wing can become damaged and be either unserviceable or dangerous to use. Note: Marine grade stainless steel can develop rust over time even when properly cared for.
Clean this wing only with fresh water and mild soap. Chemicals, strong detergents, and cleaning solutions can damage this wing and shorten its life.
Rinse this wing thoroughly with cool, fresh water after every use. To do this, depress the oral inflator button and hold the mouthpiece up to a running water source (hose, faucet, etc).
Fill this wing approximately one quarter full with clean fresh water through the oral inflator.
Orally inflate this wing and shake to distribute water inside of the wing.
Hold this wing upside down, depress the oral inflator button, and allow all water and air to drain from the mouthpiece.
Rinse the entire wing with fresh water by dipping in a tub or spraying with a hose.
Rinse all valves to make sure all sand and other debris is removed.
Allow this wing to dry thoroughly. Make sure it is not in direct sunlight. Store slightly inflated.
Storage
Storage
The sun’s ultraviolet rays can fade and damage this wing, shortening its life. Store this wing away from sunlight and excessive heat.
Keep sharp objects from coming into contact with this wing. Do not rest heavy objects on this wing or drag it over rough surfaces.
Avoid excessive pool use. Chlorinated water can lead to premature discoloration and shorten the product’s life.
Maintenance
Maintenance
Before each use, check this wing for wear. Have an authorized Dive Rite dealer replace worn or damaged items before use. Failure to replace worn or damaged items could lead to serious injury or death.
Occasionally check to make sure all fittings are hand tight.
Occasionally inflate the wing and let it sit for at least 10 minutes to ensure that there are no leaks. Also check that the wing is properly inflating and deflating and that all pull dumps are pulling/sealing.

Read these resources carefully before diving with this wing. If you do not understand any part of these materials, contact Dive Rite at (386) 752-1087 or support@diverite.com.
Make sure you fully understand this wing’s features and function before diving this wing. If in doubt, ask your authorized Dive Rite dealer for help.
Before diving, you should have the proper training from a qualified instructor and obtain certification from a recognized training agency. Your training should include a minimum of entry-level open water scuba diver training.
This manual is not a substitute for diver training from a recognized diver training organization. Failure to obtain training and certification in safe diving practices can lead to serious personal injury or death.
Changes to this wing, or use of after-market accessories, can prevent its proper function or result in damage to this wing. This can cause serious personal injury or death.
This wing is not a United States Coast Guard approved personal flotation device (PFD). This wing will not provide face-up flotation for all users and conditions.
This wing not be used as the sole form of flotation; divers should have additional forms of flotation, such as wetsuits or drysuits, to provide buoyancy in case they need to abandon the wing or it malfunctions.
This wing is not a lift bag. Attempting to use it as such places a diver at extreme risk for a dangerous, uncontrolled ascent.
This wing is not a breathing device. Never breathe from this wing. This wing may contain gas residue, liquid, or contamination that may result in serious personal injury or death if inhaled.
In accordance with European standards, Dive Rite wings can only be considered certified where all components are present, as per the original Dive Rite configuration. Any variation of the original configuration invalidates conformity to European certification standards.
Always perform a pre-dive and post-dive inspection of this wing. Make sure the BC is properly secured to the harness. Do not dive with a wing that does not pass any of the pre-dive or post-dive inspections and tests.
Special instruction in cold water diving methods, and the specific use of this product in cold water, is required prior to cold water diving (temperatures below 10°C/50°F. This instruction is beyond the scope of this manual.
This product is designed for use with gas mixtures containing no more than 40% oxygen. Use of mixtures with increased oxygen or the addition of helium or other substances may cause corrosion, deterioration, premature aging, or component failure. This can result in loss of buoyancy or compromise the integrity of this wing, resulting in injury or death. Non-standard gas mixtures may also present a risk of fire or explosion. Use only mixtures containing no more than 40% oxygen.
Overfilling weight pockets can result in the inability to drop weight in an emergency. This can, in turn, lead to serious personal injury or death. Make sure the weights you load can drop out freely before closing the weight pocket flap.
It is not recommended to change out the weight pockets on one piece, sewn BC systems to accommodate more weight. Adding larger pockets to accommodate more weight is not an issue while diving if there is enough lift, but there is a concern about the BC system handling the additional weight.
Adjust this wing so that it does not restrict your breathing when fully inflated. Restriction of normal breathing while wearing this wing could result in serious personal injury or death.
Do not attach a low-pressure (LP) hose to a regulator high-pressure (HP) port or to an air supply with pressure in excess of 14 BAR/200 PSI. This may result in damage or explosive failure of the low-pressure hose and/or power inflator assembly, and result in serious personal injury or death.
Repeated use of the oral inflator or overpressure valve may allow water inside this wing, reducing the amount of buoyancy provided by this wing. This could result in serious personal injury or death. Drain all water out of this wing prior to and after every use.
Keep sand, debris, and other contaminants out of the oral inflation/manual deflation mechanism. Under certain conditions, contamination can cause the valve to not close completely. If this occurs while diving, shake the valve while depressing it several times. If the valve leaks or remains inoperable, terminate the dive.
Do not dive with a wing that is damaged, leaks air, or does not function properly. Terminate any dive as safely and quickly as possible if this wing becomes damaged, leaks air, or does not function properly.
Avoid prolonged or repeated exposure to chlorinated water, such as in swimming pools. Wash this wing immediately after any use in chlorinated water. Chlorinated water can oxidize fabrics and materials on this wing, thereby shortening its life, and cause colors (especially neon) to fade. Damage and fading from prolonged exposure to chlorinated water is specifically not covered under warranty.
Due to heavy usage, wings used for rental/diving centers, professional purposes, or other intensive use must be checked at least every six months. Overall condition and main safety parts such as the air cell, valves, elbow, corrugated hose, and inflator mechanism must be inspected. If any of the above parts show wear or diminished performance it should be replaced immediately or removed from usage, if replacement is not possible.

Building off of the success of the Nomad RAY, the Nomad MINI refines the design, optimizing for warm water diving in aluminum tanks. Our trademark pivot harness ensures a perfect fit on divers of any shape or size and offers independent adjustments for a quick sizing. Twenty five pounds of lift makes the Mini perfect for warm water diving with aluminum tanks. The wing is held at the diver’s fulcrum, making staying in trim a breeze. The IWS (internal weight system) allows for the easy addition or removal of up to ten pounds of lead within the wing itself, eliminating any discomfort from spine weights. SuperFabric® reinforced panels at wear points ensure that passing restrictions won’t be an issue. The Mini can’t fix your lack of training, but it can fix everything else! Available in Black, Red, Blue, Pink, and OD Green. Made in the USA.

FAQs
Can I use the Nomad Mini with steel cylinders?
The Nomad Mini has 25 pounds of lift, and is meant for diving strictly with aluminum cylinders.
Is the dual bladder an option for the Nomad Mini?
The Nomad Mini does not have a dual bladder option. It's mini, and therefore does not have the space to house a second bladder. Additionally, it should only ever be dove with aluminum cylinders, reducing the need for a dual bladder option.
How many cylinders does the Nomad Mini support?
The Nomad Mini can comfortably dive two aluminum sidemount cylinders, two aluminum stage bottles, and an aluminum 40 for decompression purposes.
How much weight can the Nomad Mini hold in its IWS (Integrated Weight System)?
The Nomad Mini has two integrated weight pouches that sit behind the diver's back. Each pocket has a five pound capacity, supporting a total of ten pounds of weight.
Is the Nomad Mini only for small divers?
The Nomad Mini can be dove by divers of any size. The mini profile is optimized to be small, streamlined, and support any size diver using aluminum sidemount cylinders.
What is the pivot harness?
A pivot harness is a style of harness that has hardware (pivot rings) integrated into the shoulder straps. This allows the shoulder straps to have greater mobility and pivot according to the shape of the diver wearing it. Pivot harnesses provide greater comfort and a more custom fit for the diver.
