Drysuits

FAQs

A drysuit keeps you completely dry by sealing out water with airtight zippers and seals, while a wetsuit allows a thin layer of water in, which your body warms to maintain temperature. Drysuits are ideal for cold water diving or long-duration dives.

Dive Rite drysuits are made of durable trilaminate material, providing flexibility, abrasion resistance, and a lightweight feel, suitable for technical and recreational divers alike.

Dive Rite offers a size chart to help you select the right fit. It’s important to consider layering and flexibility when choosing your size. You can also contact your authorized Dive Rite dealer for personalized sizing assistance.

The type of undergarment depends on water temperature. Dive Rite recommends thermal undergarments for colder waters and lighter, moisture-wicking layers for milder conditions. Always choose layers that keep you warm and dry.

Identify the source of the leak by doing a visual inspection or a pressure test. Small leaks can often be repaired with an adhesive patch, but larger or more complex issues may require professional servicing.

Drysuit squeeze occurs when there isn’t enough air inside the suit to offset the water pressure. To prevent squeeze, add small amounts of air to the suit during descent to maintain comfort and flexibility.

For buoyancy control, use your BCD for most adjustments and add small amounts of air to the drysuit to maintain comfort and prevent squeeze. Avoid over-inflating the drysuit, as it can affect trim and stability.
