IMPORTANT WARNINGS
Read this manual carefully before using any Dive Rite regulator. You should fully understand how your regulator works and be proficient in its use prior to diving.
Assembly and disassembly of regulator components, and any repairs or internal maintenance, should only be performed by a certified technician working under an authorized Dive Rite dealer.
Before using your regulator, read and understand each warning, as well as warnings and cautions appearing throughout the manual. Failure to do so could result in damage to or loss of equipment, serious injury, or death.
Before diving, obtain proper training and certification from a recognized training agency.
As part of your training, master all regulator skills including assembly, disassembly, second stage clearing and recovery, continuous breathing while on scuba, and post-dive cleaning and storage.

Specifications
- Balanced diaphragm; environmentally sealed
- 5 LP ports (3/8-24 UN)
- 2 HP ports (7/16-20 UNF/ISO263) at 90° angle
- Intermediate pressure: 140 PSI (9.6 bar)

- Configuration: DIN and Yoke available
Features & Benefits
- Balanced design provides consistent airflow at any depth or tank pressure.
- Environmentally sealed to prevent corrosion and freezing in cold-water environments.
- Rotating turret for optimal hose routing in both backmount and sidemount configurations.
- Compact design suitable for travel and technical applications.
Setup & Configuration
Inspect all O-rings and threads before attaching the regulator. Hand-tighten only to avoid thread damage. Connect HP and LP hoses to appropriate ports, open the cylinder valve slowly, and perform a leak check using approved solution.
WARNING: Do not connect a low-pressure hose to a high-pressure port or vice versa. Do not open the cylinder valve unless you are certain that all hoses are correctly attached.

XT4 Second Stage
Overview
The XT4 is a pneumatically balanced downstream second stage featuring an adjustable inhalation knob and a Venturi lever for fine-tuning performance and free-flow control. It provides smooth, consistent breathing and user-adjustable comfort across all depths.
Built from rugged polymer housing with stainless steel and metal components, the XT4 includes Teflon-coated internal parts for friction reduction and cold-water resistance. The finned metal heat exchanger and Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coated metal accents enhance durability and prevent freezing.
Specifications
- Pneumatically balanced downstream design
- Adjustable inhalation resistance
- Venturi dive/pre-dive lever
- Teflon-coated internal components
- Finned heat exchanger for cold-water use
- Orthodontic mouthpiece for comfort
- Oxygen-compatible O-rings and lubricant
- Available in left-hand (RG5900-LEFT) and right-hand (RG5900-RIGHT)
Secondary Micro Spring Adjustment
The XT4 features an additional micro spring adjustment that allows independent fine-tuning of cracking pressure using a 5mm Allen key. Adjust clockwise to increase inhalation resistance, or counterclockwise to reduce it. Adjustments should be performed by qualified personnel.
Using the External Adjustment Knob
Turning the adjustment knob clockwise increases spring tension, making it more difficult for the valve to open and helping reduce free-flow in strong currents. Turning the knob counter-clockwise decreases spring tension, reducing breathing resistance but increasing the tendency to free-flow. Set the regulator so it breathes easily, just short of free-flow.
WARNING: Adjusting the knob for the maximum breathing resistance does not reduce the amount of air you breathe from your cylinder.
Using the Venturi Dive/Pre-Dive Switch
The dive/pre-dive switch controls a Venturi flow valve in the second stage. In pre-dive (lever forward) the valve decreases the likelihood of free-flow when not in use. In dive (lever back toward the mouthpiece) it decreases breathing effort and improves performance.
To Set the Venturi Switch:
- Set the switch to the dive position before each dive.
- Set the switch to the pre-dive position when the regulator is not in use or in/out of the water.
Care & Maintenance
Rinse thoroughly while pressurized after diving. Store in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight. Service every 2 years or 100 dives by an authorized technician.
Warranty & Support
Lifetime warranty for the original purchaser. Must be serviced every 2 years or 100 dives by an authorized Dive Rite technician to maintain warranty coverage.
